When two worlds meet

More than 75 NC State students who are studying Japanese on campus got a chance to test their language skills with 38 visiting students from Japan.

The visiting students major in different fields and are enrolled as undergraduate students at Nagoya University, Mie University, or Aichi University of Education in central Japan. The students are here on a three week program, which is co-hosted by the Global Training Initiative (GTI) and the Intensive English Program, was developed to improve the students’ English speaking skills as well as give them a taste of what an American university is like. They will be visiting an NC State class in their major, learning about leadership in a diverse setting, and touring Washington DC.
